Mission

The man I’m a longtime sports fan who happens to work as a sports writer. My work involves a lot of high school sports coverage with some other stuff here and there. I wanted to do something on a regular basis that includes some of my passions: the Cincinnati Reds, Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals and the world of sports in general.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge that the idea of keeping a running commentary on all things sports isn’t new. While I don’t read him all the time, Bill Simmons, or espn.com’s “The Sports Guy” has mastered the art of fandom turned professional column writing as well as anyone. While I won’t be copying him, his work helped give me the idea for this site.

One similarity to Simmons is the way I hope to bring my thoughts across to the reader. Simmons often includes tidbits from phone conversations with his father in his columns. I still, at age 27, speak to my grandfather on nearly a daily basis, with most of our talks involving sports. His thoughts of impending doom for the Reds, Buckeyes and Bengals will often be discussed on this site.

Thanks for reading and enjoy my perspective on all things sports.
