It was the kind of Saturday that brings about night sweats and terrors. Ohio State, the official college football team of seths50centers.com and The Seth Shaner Podcast, laid a monstrous egg at Purdue Saturday, and here Brian and I are, left to pick up the pieces.

We go over the chicken or egg discussion a bit — you know, who’s to blame the QB or the O-line? Perhaps the coach is to blame, but which coach? Is it the head coach because he won’t find himself a legitimate offensive coordinator, or is it the so-called OC (Jim Bollman), whose only real job, because Jim Tressel really calls the plays, is to coach up the O-line?

Maybe it’s the fact that, because Tressel insists on calling his own plays, no one of any repute will accept the quarterbacks coach position, which as my friend Matt pointed out, has been handed off to a guy from Urbana, yes, Urbana!

So, let me get this straight, there’s no OC because Tressel doesn’t want one, but we can’t even get a few guys in there to coach up these prep all-Americans?

Then we get to the play of Terrelle Pryor…I don’t want to talk about it anymore. Wake me up when he’s the No. 1 prospect we were told he was from Day 1.
