Well, the football weekend is finally over, and we here in Ohio have little to show for it, except a collective black eye!
In trying to look forward, I turn to longtime friend, and former colleague, Steve Streicher, who is getting his MBA at Toledo. The Rockets happen to be Ohio State’s next opponent!
I finish things up talking to Brian Inglis, for some therapy about last week’s game.
The Seth Shaner Podcast
NFL Picks
The picks were a huge success, with nearly twice as many participants as we’ve ever had in a given week. Thank you, and keep them coming!
Remember, respect and a free lunch are on the line, so don’t miss a week!
Apparently making picks isn’t that hard this year, as we had several people tie with 14 wins.
B-Mac won the week, however, with a prediction of 40 total points being scored in the final game, which San Diego won 24-20.
A few things about picking:
Make sure you pick all the games! We had a few people forget a game here or there.
Always supply a point total for the final game on the list. This is the tiebreaker for the week.

Good stuff on the podcast, Seth.
As rough as the weekend was for many Central Ohioans, it could have been a lot worse for one football player/fan.
My son’s an offensive lineman for the Whetstone football team, which lost its game to Dayton Dunbar 21-20 Friday night on an 80-yard pass-tip-catch-run with no time left on the clock, followed by a two-point play.
Then he has to watch the Buckeyes lose in the final minute or two Ssaturday.
Sunday, we head to Cincy to watch his favorite team, the Broncos. Ugly game most of the afternoon, then we have to see Cincy score with 38 seconds left. This kid is just miserable (allergies and the 80 degrees in the sun doesn’t help, either!).
All-of-a-sudden, right in front of us, we get the big pass-tip-catch run from Stokely that turns Paul Brown Stadium from a party to a wake.
Amazing — I had to tell my kid it was just for him, after the weekend he had.
In sports, every last second counts, right?

The question is, how is a kid from Central Ohio a Broncos fan? And, if he’s a Broncos fan, why is he still cheering for them after the way they handled the Cutler mess??? I know a few now-former Broncos fans who’ve abandoned the team in the wake of the past months’ actions!

Instinctually, Jordan Hall is the best running back I’ve seen on this Ohio State roster…. and this is the best defense since 2005…. my words of wisdom.
