A little late with the update this week. It’s been a weird one as I prepare for the annual clash of the Big Ten titans.
With Ohio State’s seven point loss to Illinois last week I’m not sure how to feel about this week’s game. I’d like to think things will be OK, but going north isn’t something that’s easy to do.
As I look at the match up I think about the past few seasons when Troy Smith dominated things and wonder if it was as much Jim Tressel dominating Lllllllloyd Carr or was it Smith dominating that team up north?
What will it be like this year with out 10 out there? Will Chris Wells be able to keep the ball in our hands and away from those other guys? What about our defense? Can it bounce back from a tough game last week against Illinois?
As far as that last question, I tend to think that the issue becomes more about the kind of offense we’re up against. As much as I enjoyed poking fun at that team up north after its early losses to spread offenses with athletic quarterbacks, but aside from OSU taking apart Elle Roberson and Kansas St. in the 2004 Fiesta Bowl, when have we dominated that kind of team?
I’ll take Tressel over Lllllloyd but I don’t know what to expect with it being up there and all.
I know, I know this is some seriously good insight on The Game, right? Truth is, I just don’t have a good read on what to expect out of this game. I don’t know what it is. It was pointed out to me, though, that we haven’t really known what to expect for much of the season.
Go Bucks!
NFL Results
It was a rough week and I don’t just mean for me! No one won more than eight games and we had another tie, with Jessica and Big Game each winning eight.
Jessica picked 35 points, with Big Game guessing 40. Seattle beat San Francisco 24-0, so Jessica wins the extra point. (I’ll add that to the total in the overall points this week)
